Justice
- - - - - - - - - -
Once I had been
To a police station
Not alone
But with my friend
Polite, sober, and soft-spoken
Yet silent like a cold stone
Over my future action

With a complaint
In black and white written
Handed over to the charge-in
First a curious look
Toward face zone
Then a tough glance on
The paper that was flown
Off the table
By the soft breeze coming
Through window from the lawn
And lying on the floor
Like a trash of little attention

Picked up sleepily
And asked to come later on
It was a grievance genuine
Against a sensible person
Though having might is right
As the only principle
That he followed on
Less and less he listens
More and more he screams
As if to silence you unto heaven
And to respect and abide law
Is beyond his horoscope's horizon

A week or so passed on
Then came a phone call
Soft and sweet music playing on
Received and said hello
'Are you the man then?
That came with a fellow man
In your hand with a complaint'
Yes sir, but we are sorry
We can't take any action
Against such a mighty man
Blessed with so much virtues
Like money, muscles, and power

Better take not to dissension
And your anguished letter
Be taken back with submission
But this is injustice, sir
Then show me where resides justice
And tell me what entails justice
When nothing here works
Except that money cares
Muscles dare
And power scares………

A Thoughtful and meaningful write especially related to present situation whatever is happening in todays world. Common man's is often denied justice, and culprits are set free. This is the main reason people fear to go for complaints...Loved reading it. Thanks for sharing with us.

Often justice is brutally denied to the deserving ones and culprits go scot free if they have muscle power, money or influence! This is a pathetic state! The common man therefore has lost his faith in the judiciary and police force! What you have described happens too often and I don't think there is any exaggeration! Complaints often land in the dust bin!
