Ka Makuahine Kai (The Mother Ocean) (Q Style) Poem by Marcus McKinley

Ka Makuahine Kai (The Mother Ocean) (Q Style)

Rating: 5.0

In times of tranquility
Her cradle is gentle
Soothing
Her placid motion
Makes life inconsequetial

If you make a mistake
The corollary can be immoral
Punished
She will beat you and pound you
Upon the rocks and the coral

Watching her belly as it swells
Becoming one with the tide
Intuitively
Waiting in calm anticipation
She gives birth to the ultimate ride

An extension of our soul
Be kind to her my friend
Cosseted
She will bring you home
Again and again

Thank you for recommending I read this Marcus. I loved how you described the ocean as peaceful at times but unforgiving if you err. Every word was a delight! I got that it's about surfing btw, something I've always wanted to try. However now I'm afraid of sharks so that's not gonna happen lol. I'm an idiot, what's a Q style?
