Kabirdas In Today's Time... (Hindi, With Translation In English) Poem by Sujeet Kumar Vishwakarma

Kabirdas In Today's Time... (Hindi, With Translation In English)

Main maanga prabhu aapse, main na jaagun aur.
Na bhagoon dhan lobh me, bhool chayn ka kaur.
Diya magar prabhu aapne, jaagan ka abhishaap,
Kaahe karo vivash tum prabhu, ki main karun kuchh paap.

(Dear God, I asked you for a situation where I donot wake up to this world. So that I donot have to run for money, forgetting even a small bite of food taken in peace. But, you instead gave me a life with too much of waking up, and now u are forcing me to do the unjust, to survive in this world.)

Main dekha deepawali, holi bhi liya dekh,
fark na koi deekh pada, man na dikha koi nek.
Sabjan kewal mitravat, baat karen bekaar,
Apni haanki baanchen sab, sabka rona ek.

(I saw Deepawali, and then also saw Holi, in both of the celebrations, i did not find much of difference, as all the people were doing loose talks with each other just to contain the time they were sitting or spending time togather, I could not see a single person who spreaks sense on these festivals. All the people I saw Just keep behaving friendly, and talking vague, boasting of their own heraldy, and crying on the same common issue.)

Prabhuji Naarad ab nahi, Kaam kisi k aayen,
Sab kehu ab jud chale, aapas me batiyaaen.
Sab se sab ki baat hai, par sab sabse duur,
Milan ki fursat kshan ki na, aise mile zarur.

(Dear God, Narad Muni(the messenger god) is of no use in present age, as all people are interconnected with each other through modern equipments, all talk to each other, but all are distant from each other, they donot have time to spend togather for even a minuite, but they will sure stay connected through these mediums)

Dhani mani ka des hai, nirdhan bana gulaam,
sabko apni akad badi, jab sabka ek anjaam.
main moorakh karne chala, sabse ek si baat,
moodh samajh sab poochte, 'teri kya aukaat? '

(This world is ruled by the rich, and the poor are mere slaves, all are living in their own ego and grudge, when they should know all are going to die one day. I tried talking in even and equal manner with all, and I was questioned about my identity and my ability to exist.)
