Kalam

Kayi baras baad, aaj fir kalam uthaai hai..
kalam uthaate hi mujhe, fir teri yaad aayi hai

saanso se lekar saanso tak
aanho se lekar aanho tak
yaad karne ko har ek lamhe ko
har panne par ek lakeer lagaai hai
kayi baras baad, aaj fir kalam uthaai hai..
kalam uthaate hi mujhe, fir teri yaad aayi hai

zindgi ke har lamhe me, likha tujhko
aankho ke har aansoo me, padha tujhko
mahsoos karne ko tujhe fir zindgi me
teri ek tasweer banai hai
kayi baras baad, aaj fir kalam uthaai hai..
kalam uthaate hi mujhe, fir teri yaad aayi hai.

Above the fruited plain!
America! America!
