Katrina Aug 29 Poem by Stephen S. Yeandle

Katrina Aug 29

ethereal
caribbean
coconut cove

transparent sea
thatched hut
dreams
soon deprived

a thunderstorm
off Africa’s coast

a simple
innocent
tropical wave
resolves
to
copulate
and breed
in counter
clockwise motion
twisted
violent seduction
rape
a cyclones scream
filled with
rage
is heard
in the Northern Hemisphere

surface wind begins to climb
it has become a hurricane...
