Kindred Spirits Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Kindred Spirits

We were lovers in the spotlight,
just a boy and just a girl,
many moons ago now,
but still our words unfurl.

With a spotlight shining brightly
words unravelled one by one,
and God whispered ever sweetly
as we walked beneath His sun.

Adieu to winter shadows
they were gloomy all the day...
the spotlight calmed our spirit,
gave us our wedding day.

Our plans were not forsaken,
they've shone through as a dream
we were lovers in the spotlight
and our lives have been supreme.
