Kismat Poem by Ibrar Ahmad Siddiqi

Kismat

I wake in the morning trying to work out my fate.

People telling me its Kismat.

I want win the lottery but I lose money instead.

People telling me its Kismat.

Want to better myself failing to move forward an inch.

People telling me its Kismat.

Want my health to improve but am poisoned by leeches.

People telling me its Kismat.

I got to go somewhere and be me instead.

I'm gonna make my life better Kismet or not.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Sitting one day listening to Robert Plant singing it occurred to me that I had to find my talents and make it out this rut. I started to read up on the biographies of my role models such as Paul Hogan discovering the seed of hope that brought them success.
