Knarled Endings Poem by David Harris

Knarled Endings

Rating: 5.0

Going through some old papers
belonging to my yesterdays.
Their knarled ending
savor no hidden smiles.
Remorse and sadness
they etched across my brow.

Times have changed me
and I have moved on.
Yesterdays are yesterday,
links lost from the present.
Still I must read the words
however painful some can be.

Soon I will be finished
and I can continue again
without the detours there
and what might have been.
Photographs and memories
will be stored for another day.
