Know For Yourself

For oneself we need to know Him
To follow night and day
Careful one’s faith, grows never dim
Along His chosen way

God’s truth, we must be living
Doing right, forsaking wrong
For His Gift, The Father’s giving
To sing Salvation’s song

Victory, triumph, for us all
While foolish rebels fail
We’ll stand when all others fall
Lost in the devil’s jail

Though doctors and lawyers may try
Psychiatrists even more
For souls steeped in sin when they die
Nought will open hell’s door

Too late, too late, cries will arise
Who devils could deceive
When knowledge opens fools blind eyes
To where they’ll never leave

Beholding yourself, tomorrow
Rejecting Calvary’s tree
If though you beg, steal or borrow
Nothing will set you free

We need now! Christ Jesus who died
Who rose, endless to live
Through selfless love, glorified
His Promise man will give

“Come! When you’re heavy laden
Splendidly to be blessed
Though man, woman, youth or maiden
Come rise, into my rest”…..
