L Poem by Marcus McKinley

L

As I look, One last time
Ear poised, you lilt your voice
Resonating, morning lark
Upon wind you loft sweet tones
Signaling my soul, set to embark

Soft yet loud
Beckoning my every loin
In acappellic pitch control
Lift of each note, pulsating my heart
With every breath a cardiac lull

Love draws deep libation
From the waters dripping lust
Rhythmic bliss my flesh you lick
Long moments lost, lingering shivers
With each touch of finger tip

Lush vibrant voice, echoing my soul
Sweet lure, lyrics hook in mind entwined
Pure essence of life is now made whole
Late the hour In which we live
I now understand, the love that life has stole
