La Guerra - Destino De Violencia Poem by Joshua C. Whiting

La Guerra - Destino De Violencia

Yes, Guerra is human destiny
Destroys all that is and used to be
Families dispersed and uprooted
Homes annihilated and looted

Chaos reigns around the globe
Darkness descends ready to implode
The value of life is nil
There is no hope until
The dark side submerges to a dormant still

Time to assess worthiness
Of humanity who created this mess
Do we deserve to populate planet Earth
With nuclear testing in and above her girth?

Polluting her atmosphere with industrial fossil fuel
How on this Earth could we be so cruel?
Four horsemen of the apocalypse have become five
Nuclear devastation only man can contrive

Infected undernourished African babies - too late
Children of Iraq, Afghanistan, Sudan – too late
Doomed to horrible fate

Any hope of ending this genocide?
Or should we close our eyes
And hide from the dark side?
War machines made to perfection
Dumb power laden candidates stealing the election

Supreme Court partakes of the conspiracy
A slippery slope, sliding into tyranny
Terror casting a fearful toll
Gaze into a mirror, look deep in your soul

A savage genetic link?
From prehistoria we think
Anchored in loins of living beings
Killing goes on by morbid fiends

Politics: deception reigns supreme
Greed, corruption underlying theme
Hypocrisy, essence of political schemes
Crushes hopes of positive dreams

Is potential for retaliation at least
A prerequisite for sustaining peace?
Keeping America from becoming deceased
Must end this negative assessment now
Strive for positive results, but how?

Will continue to nurture
Beauty and colors of nature
While birds soar in serene rapture
Sustaining strength of love, I say
Will keep one positive day by day
Peace, respect, goodwill, never stray

Of course, that which helps me, not to lose it
Are beloved sounds of Jazz music

La guerra es destrucción mutua. Por qué hace cualquiera quiso comenzarlo. Nice work Joshua.
