Labor Of Aquarius Poem by steve green

Labor Of Aquarius

Emily wearily
rises
with the dawn

begins her daily
routine

the years of
toil have taken
their toll

her life is hard

grinding down
her soul

she goes
to the well
every morning

to fetch water
for her family

such the
heavy load
to bear

for she
also carries

the weight
of single
parenthood

on her
fair shoulders

without fanfare

without glory

she does her duty

life has assigned her
