Lachrymae Christi Poem by John Thorkild Ellison

Lachrymae Christi

Rating: 2.8

I saw your passionate eyes
Lost from the cradle of night,
And I turned away from your tears
That bled in the clear blue sky:
I wanted to run away
Because your body was filled with light,
But I couldn't escape from your arms
When you held me, my Redeemer.
