Lamentation #2 Poem by Jason Bonhomme

Lamentation #2

Rating: 5.0

From shill to shadow
You see the flow
Of a mind trapped
Within a ghastly tow

Cut the ballast
Sever the show
Realign the remnants
Of this wondrous glow

For too long
Have I lingered here
My heart held ransom
Stagnant with fear

Let my life be renewed
Ring once again true
Cleanse my thought, word and deed
Of it's stygian stew

The secret observer am I
I have let this precious life pass by
Passive for this tense
Active in dream sense
Watchful and waiting
For the Muse
To prod me to try

Pry open the door
This fortress around my heart
Bypass fear, sorrow and grief
Banish all loneliness
So I can make a new start.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
A spiritual plea born out of anguish and increasing feelings of isolation.
Never give up ~ Amongst the dross of this mortal experience there is an eternal light that shines from within. You are worthy and you DO matter.
