Lamia Poem by victoria foister

Lamia

Rating: 3.3

I
Beauty killed the queen
and become a beast.

II

Be terrified.
As its you I love;
Zeus my perfect Greek God
muscular, breath-taking, honourable
but yet you betray me.

III

Had we but world enough and time,
but at my back I always herd
time's winged chariot hurrying near
our love is but loves times beggar,
my honour turned to dust.

IV

My children, confetti in the wind
the falling leaves in autumn;
death for you is just a deep sleep
but you, oh you will get no sleep
bide you with death and sin.

V

Look what you did
I'm worthy of a queens embrace
I looked in a mirror
love gone bad
shown me a felony

VI

Wasn't I beautiful
wasn't I fragrant and young?
Love killed the queen
and turned into
a bloodshed of Young.

VII

LOOK AT ME NOW... YOU.
