Landscape 25 Still Life Poem by Stewart McKenzie

Landscape 25 Still Life

Always a little sad
These anthropological dioramas
Of daily life say
In a Delaware Indian longhouse
Life once vibrant
Now in dusty stasis
The only movement
An occasional mouse
Even an exhibition of wild fashions
In New York City
Shares this melancholy
The feather dresses stilled
