Last Call: Flight 777 Poem by Max McGovern

Last Call: Flight 777

Heart beats fast – seeing such designs,
It’s time to come – Come, you’ll be fine.
The hour draws near – shine yields twilight.
This day can’t last, don’t try to fight.

Here’s your list, so get packing
We’re leaving real soon.
Requisite for the passage:
Love of life, love of moon.

Are we ready? Here at last,
The departure has come.
Just be ready for feeling,
You will be overcome.

Don’t you worry I’m beside you,
Grasp on to these golden hands.
I promise you that they can guide you,
Through these mind-mistaken lands.

No clocks no watches till it ends.
Not to worry, without your sight.
All this Time will disappear friends,
By the ending of this night.

Let the seconds bloom like flowers,
Tell me, who’s not having fun?
Who needs all of life’s great hours?
There’s twelve billion yet to come.

Let the hours melt mind-powers,
Like ice showers by the sun.

Hold on tight, I think I’m losing you,
I cannot see through this great night.
There you are, now I can feel too.
Our intention is in sight.

Ahh yes there’s our destination!
See that purple neon light?
Attention please, all passengers!
Prepare to share this load, alright?

We may experience some turbulence,
there’s always stormy weather.
Don’t let bumps perturb the sense,
I swear we’ll make it through together.

The light is drawing closer,
Now its pink. Now blue. Now green.
Yes, I know, is it not beautiful?
Wait till you see the things I’ve seen.

Everyone! You must keep listening,
I open hearts and minds for fun.
Ha! The light is shining brightest now.
Eyes wide! Now please don’t shun.

Open wide you tiny windows!
My! How does the knowledge pour!
What they’ve told you. You mustn’t buy it!
There’s no peace behind that door.
Yes. Twenty times I verify it,
I’ve viewed your very Maker’s core.

It’s time to grow now, fun is over
The journey’s done it’s time to go.
You must feel shaky and un-sober
Laugh a bit so blood can flow.

Revelation leads to question,
Seeking answers at my door.
A thousand times now I have told you,
I can tell you nothing more.
With ethereal understanding,
Comes this comedown till the end.
I know you’re wondering, “Tell me future:
When’s the next time I ascend? ”
