Last Gypsy Church Of Buddha, Indiana Poem by David Kowalczyk

Last Gypsy Church Of Buddha, Indiana

Rating: 4.7

Tears falling from a weeping willow,
virgins ascending through the clouds.

Sighs from the night's last moonbeam,
monkeys whistling through your mind.

Panthers licking blood from the wind,
homeless angels landing on your nose.

A tickling of your heart,
butterflies sailing from your soul.

The sound of one eye winking.

The ending is perfect. Absolutely perfect. In fact, it rescues an otherwise somewhat mediocre poem.

I liked it up until the last line. Just a tad too cute, a trifle too clever, for its own good.
