Laws Order Virtue Ethics Poem by J.. J

Laws Order Virtue Ethics

Rating: 4.5

Laws: to keep us on the straight and narrow, without them we wouldn't survive
Order: to give us security and a structure in our lives
Virtue: a moral excellence, associated with good
Ethics: a set of moral principles, hopefully shared by all in your neighbourhood

Laws: to give us guidelines, the reasoning easy to understand
Order: making sense of the world, the insignificant and the grand
Virtue: is an innocence of high merit and chastity
Ethics: are not only principles, they are your own life's philosophy

Laws: aren't there just to restrict you, they give you a spectrum of scope
Order: gives understanding, gives relevance and even hope
Virtue: a redeeming human feature, of worth, strength and purity
Ethics: a code of honour and conduct, defining you and me

If true love is understanding and understanding is true love
Then understand it truly comes from inside and not from up above
Though all our differences show the vastness, of human diversity
We all have our common ground: its called Humanity

My skin colour doesn't define me. You know what? Neither does yours!
And the rules governing where I come from, maybe different from your laws
But the foundation from which all laws are based, are actually the same
The only difference being, you call yours by another name

You know just as well as I do, not everyone has a sister or brother
The one thing we are certain of, the fact, we all have a mother
You are a product of you mothers love, a fact you cannot hide
You were the closest thing to her heart, you were the one inside

To borrow a line from a poetic friend, describing his child, his son
This simple line explains it all, "two hearts united in the breast of one"
It makes no difference the child is a boy, the sentiments the same for a girl
And THAT is what we should teach our children, ALL OVER THE WORLD
