Lay it at heavens door

Father oh father where did you go
Called home so very long ago
Off to live in your heavenly home
Leaving me here all alone

Celebrating this special day
In a place so far away
Where the angels sing heavenly songs
It Seems like forever you've been gone

If you were here on this day
So many things to you I'd say
A million thank you's could never be enough
Saying I love wouldn't be so tuff

Never appreciated like you should have been
Taken for granted like only a kid can
How can I say what I need to say
With you being so far away

How can your ears reach down from heaven to hear
What I must say to you on your day dear
I love you dad and I should have said it more
All I can do now is lay it for you at heavens door

Happy fathers day pop! !

poet Christina Georgina Rossetti

Where sunless rivers weep
Their waves into the deep,
She sleeps a charmed sleep:
Awake her not.
Led by a single star,
She came from very far
