Lay Us Down Poem by Lillie Ellis

Lay Us Down

Rating: 5.0

Lay me down
Just set me on the ground
Please give me some air
And let me feel around
Let me recover from the breaking down
I know you're disapointed
But what can I do
Everyone falls down
Just do me one favor
Lay me down

Lay me down
Please leave me be
It's one of those situations
Where I don't want to see
When you come back
Leave your lectures outside
All I want is a friend
Who will stay by my side
Show some emotion
That will allow me to trust
But before you leave
Will you do one thing
Lay me down

Lay me down
Give me some room
To roam around
It's alright
You can cry
It doesn't make you weak
Just makes you human
Before you leave
To breakdown yourself
Lay me down

Lay me down
Please let me rest
You've done enough
Right now your shoulder is weighed down
I think I can carry the rest
Show me that we're going to be okay
And please don't run away
I know this scares you
It scares me too
I need to rest
And I think you do too
But before you go
Lay me down

Lay me down
I'll be okay
I think I can hold on without you
For about one day
You make me happy
With your bright smile and eyes
And your laugh makes you sound wise
Tell me if you're okay
And I will listen
But first you must do one thing
Lay me down

Lay me down
Pease get some sleep
And please try not to weep
I'm okay
And so are you
Show me later
How to live
And I will show you
How to love
Lay us down
