Leader
by Ted L Glines
You fail when anti-this or anti-that
because you seek to limit others' space,
they'll turn away from you with little grace
and shun you in your grumpy habitat
because you make them angry - that is that;
they'll never hear your voice or see your face,
nor give you any chance to win your race
and you will be remembered in disgrace.
Instead, you guide them forward to the good,
and they will follow you through thick and thin,
so anxious for the help you care to lend,
and see - with you - that they will surely win;
they'll find your words so easy understood
for you will be their pride, my leader friend.
You must find the positive approach,
the way of goodness lies beyond reproach;
don't be anti-anything,
for you cannot push a string;
a leader runs in pride before the coach.
