Leaders/Lead Us... Poem by Rayno Elroy Davids

Leaders/Lead Us...

If i could take a page out of ur book,
i'd be honest,
indeed!
This' the plight of a man in need,
so incline ur ear,
please take heed,
the sentence,
a line,
as spoken once read by the shepard to his sheep,
a page,
this sheet,
exposed the thought corrupt by a cheat.
Thought it was a test which i now detest
so please s
PLEASE, SPEAK!
Me,
i believe,
that i could in this life meet the man within,
i feel him breathe,
the problem created by me
so glutenous is greed,
that it sent me to the verge of destruction's teeth,
now,
im clutchin jaws that my eyes see.
Tabacco and whiskey beer and brandy the liqours which defeats me
the plan
an idea
the concept
far fetched
once,
was within reach
now,
eludes me, so why do i still strive to be?
Clarity, the need in which detail succeeds,
a recipe,
within which my essence may teach-
finally!
The gap breached,
me being brief,
no mic,
as a man i speak-
to the sheep,
the cheat is us creating that fear through disbelief'.
So breathe man within til we as a whole can actualise that which we see.
