Lean On Christ Poem by Jeremy Deacon

Lean On Christ

Rating: 5.0

MY God, my God how I need you. The life you have given me is taken for granted daily. Time passes, while moments seemingly feel so slow. But it is in the dessert that we begin to grow. Here today and gone tomorrow is so very true. I can remember the very first day of school. It is as if yesterday years ago have come so quickly this day years far away. My life here means nothing without the grace of God. It is Him who keeps us with His Holy shepherds rod. Oh God how my feelings and flesh wish it were easy but your ways are higher and your purpose remains that through the fire your sovereignty reigns. Again today I have failed you oh Lord my God. But in this fire your love for me grows rapid and quick, steadfast and unconditional just as the wind blows once again you have swept me away in your glorious embrace. The life I strive to live perfect is made perfect through my weakness. Until that day when we meet face to face I will serve you oh Lord and I will rest in your grace. Take me this day my God if it is your will. Until then Lord I will cling to your cross on Calvary hill.
