Leave Me The Poet Poem by Mpho Leteng

Leave Me The Poet

From your disheveled intellects I seek none story, I seek no poem;
For I fell short not of a story nor poem!
I fell short of undoubted reasons to why I should read any of your nonsense!

So you might with logged retorts slay me for the harvest,
Or butcher me for that case or for logics of your best
But I'm too much of a poet too!

Triumph over the philosophies in my foresights of a blacking curse,
Or as you wish confer on an alleyway to the inheritance of mine scearce
But leave me the poet not the lies in verse!

I need naught yours sympathy sweep at mine feet,
Just leave me the poet not a pasted pleat of unmindful words
Or anything of such kind or the kith and kin you hold in mind.

I'm too much of a poet too,
Though lived not long enough to make it out of life alive
but i'm too much of a poet too!
just leave me the way i am
