Leave The Past Behind
When the eyes
Of honest vulnerability are opened,
One will follow
The soundless voice of God
And depart from Egypt
For a renewing place
Like when the child Jesus
Returned to Israel
From Joseph’s protective exile.
Undeviating Light,
May we find our true place
In this existence,
May we leave the past behind
And move forward into the happiness
Of our spiritual destiny.
