Leaving Me Behind Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Leaving Me Behind

Lifeless, hanging in mid-air, no where to go or fall, on this space of earth.
There's nothing here for me to hold on to, all has been taken away, except family - and I'm the oldest of eight.
Two sons work, but they do the best they can to help me when they're able to.
Relatives abound, yet I take care of myself, even my husband, who has early onset dementia, needs my care.
Yes, all in all, I'm alone inside with no where to go for help, so I try to help myself the best I can and let life continue leaving me behind, lifeless, hanging in mid-air no where to go or fall on this space of earth.
