Legend Poem by John Bannister Tabb

Legend

The Brook goes babbling to the Sea
In language of the Land,
Of hill, and dale, and leafy tree,
Of song-bird, fragrant flower, and bee,
Beyond the sloping strand.
Alas! 'Tis all a mystery!
She doth not understand.
