Legend's Past Poem by Patricia Gale

Legend's Past

Rating: 5.0

Through the wind flows the whispers of poetry
And hearts a fire
They dance with maiden’s fair
Circling round the heated embers of May

As the blossoms spill forth their essence
Lost in a trance of love thrown stars
Searching for the one to be their own
To lie with beneath the forest green

Sing to me of forgotten times
When heroes fought night and day
And wore his lady’s favor
Held within his heart forever more

Dance before the beauty fades
From eyes of many woes
Carry me far away
Into twilight’s gleam

Sweet lips to taste upon
Like honey soaked bread for a battled knight
Let me drink and savor the rich flavor of your love
As we quench our thirst from lover’s cup

Hear the faded trumpets sound
As they haunt our memories
Of battles fought long ago
And the blood of our heritage spilled upon the land

Souls of love and hate
Soar with the fairies of the night
Singing with the banshee’s cry
Shed tears for the lost and bound

Sing with me one last time
Dance the final dance
Remembrance of a time lost
As we sail away in legend’s past
