Les Nouveaux Locataires. Poem by Michael Walker

This Italian sonnet by E.A.Robinson is about the owner of a house and the new tenants who are moving into it. The perspective throughout is that of the owner, a sensitive, insecure man, who like his own privacy.Privacy that will be taken away by the new tenants who will grow to loathe him. The poem was written a long time ago, but the owner-tenant situation is still much the same, so 'The New Tenant' is still topical, 'right here right now'.Personally, as a tenant, I found owners usually difficult to deal with and sometimes impossible.I could relate to one or two with dignity & respect, however.
The sonnet has a rhyme scheme: abbaabba (octet or octave) & acaccc (sestet)- in the original English. It is a technical masterpiece by a great craftsman.
