Let It Be A Dream

Somewhere off in the distance of the house
I could hear my mom scream as the fatal noise went off from a gun
my only thoughts were please let it be a nightmare
everything but the pouring rain became quiet as a mouse
my heart was racing my mind was telling me to run
my emotions seemed to be frozen and I had every intention to scream
closer and closer he came without a sound
run run my mind kept saying but my heart was the only thing pacing
harder my body would start to ache and pound
at that instant came a shot through my door
all I could ever think of was the torturing screams
PLEASE but before I could finish
all of what I thought was a nightmare quickly became real
