Let Me Take My Due Poem by Hannington Mumo

Let Me Take My Due

I always fight the temptation to take more,
I have an inclination to break the Lord's Law,
I love taking more than I deserve,
And I do not the Holy Dictates observe.

I'm greedy and obscene,
I have some appetite for sin;
I hate it though
But it's ever in tow!

Lord alone can help me
To shun the fruits of the forbidden tree,
And help me take what's my due,
And the words of truth not to chew!
