Let Me Tell You... Poem by Kesav Venkat Easwaran

Let Me Tell You...

Let me tell you
What I enjoyed this dawn:
Got up at my usual hour;
No hangover, no frown;
Stepped out of my house;
Eased briskly, looking
Towards the east horizon;
To my favorite hillock zone

Sat on the bank of
The river running by;
Watched the golden rays
Merrily reflect on
The silvery water trays;
Caught hold of the fragrance
Of the blooms that early rise;

Heard the ebullient birds
Exchange warm welcome greets;
Noticed the crazy breeze
Mumble sweet words
To the gleefully listening leaves;
Watched with joy
The rhythmic willowy sways;
Wondered how brilliance expand
Abundant all over the sky...

Bid sweet farewell
To the parting golden cart;
Walked slowly back;
A portrait upon my heart;
I am presenting it now
To you, my dear pals!
Till now you have listened;
A million thanks to each and all...
