Let me write a poem about oblivion.
Let me write a poem of lust, debauchery,
and straying from the herd.
Let me write a poem about courtship,
war and peace.

Let me write a poem.....just for the
sake of a poem; let me strike a match,
and shed light on The First Amendment;
let me write a poem.....the abuse of power
and the right to privacy.

Let me write-
Let me write...........like Socrates, I'll
become a gadfly to the state.
