Let Us Talk Poem by Joshua Bantum

Let Us Talk

Through the tongue we could never kiss
so with our eyes, our lips
we left no emotions stranded
to be missed

This way we showed our love

I knew not the word in French
nor could you explain your heart in proper tense

I spoke through a smile lense
and dented flower ruffled grins

We left translation
for Time to find its end

Cause for then,
tenderness was a way to speak
through all facets of movements
we danced wholehearted
without a leak

And in silence of the night
where words are so used to being
they were replaced
by the bodies natural way of singing.
