Letter Poem by Christopher Tye

Letter

Rating: 5.0

Letter

Letters sent home from the front,
Envelopes carrying priceless letters,
Tearful reminders from a lost generation,
Time capsules from distant days,
Every letter and word carrying meaning,
Remaining long after e-mails can.

I was having a clean out the other day and came across letters from my mum from the early eighties. She has past now nearly 10 years...It was just amazing to come across them again...loving this poem. Annette

A persons writing holds so much meaning. often thought, their heart and time. Technology has stolen so much that many, may never get to appreciate. Those letters from the war kept families holing on.

I'm so nostalgic about the letter-writing days. It was an art. Now emails have taken over. Letter-writing tradition is one to be cherished. Thanks for writing this.

The time of snail mail almost fades away. Your poem reminds of us the old mailing method now replaced by e-mail. A touching poem. Enjoyed.
