Letterescence Poem by Jole Hans

Letterescence

Even though we`ve never met
for what feels like the longest time
I would have liked to call you my darling, my sweetie, my own

Had I a woman like you, the chance for love to shine through
I would walk across the globe till my shoes had smoldered and feet had bled

Know only of your lips so tender and cheeks slightly red
on beautiful soft pale skin,
a canvas for me to brush upon with my mangled fingertips in bed

Soak you up in any way possible. To be close, to be near
to embrace
Feel like I must hold you once, at least once my dear

You would be me, and I you
One soul abiding in two

Never can it be all light
Please, I beg, give in to the flight
I`ll care of the smallest ember that can spark the largest fire
cause the light in miniscule
fend off the ominous dark
