Letters Poem by Katie Leon

Letters

I check the mailbox everyday, for letters that aren't there,
And I can't stop myself from wondering what you're doing over there.
I wonder if the skies are calm, or if it's pouring rain.
I wonder if you're okay, or if you're feeling pain.
I know that youre fighting for a reason, to keep our country safe,
And I know that this is serious, I know it's not a game.
Well today I got a letter, but I wish that I had not,
Because although you're coming home my love, you're coming in a box.
