Letters In Lines Poem by Heart of Ice Die Die Die

Letters In Lines

Do you remember
all those posters back in grade school?
The ones no one actually read?
About how to handle your anger?
I remember them.
One of the things
on the lists
right after count to ten
was write a letter
and throw it away.
That way no one's feelings got hurt.
Well,
instead of wasting paper
and valuable trees
I write letters
in little red lines
and blood.
My knife my pen
and my blood my ink.
my arms,
legs, hips, thighs,
hands, wrists, fingers,
my paper.
I'm white enough.
What?
So I can't throw them away
but it feels so much better
and it's not hurting anyone.
Well there IS me
but since when have I mattered?
That's right,
that one little word
starts with an N end with an R.
Any guesses?
That's right
NEVER.
