Letting Go Poem by Mary Rodriguez

Letting Go

Rating: 5.0

Like driftwood on the shore I lay
Wondering what fate has in store for me today?
Loss it seems is the worst kind of sorrow
Lost dreams we had of our tomorrows
This vast oblivion of silence
Haunts my ever fragile conscious
Lost in mind and in soul
Once a whole heart, now an empty hole
Letting go is the hardest thing to do
When you love someone as much as I loved you
No need for a grand epiphany
To see how much you truly mean to me
You're in my every thought
Loves lessons are things that can't be taught
Sometimes you have to go out on a limb
To understand what you have within
Broken in spirit and brought to my knees
My heart begging to be appeased
There's only so much you can take
No longer willing to live in constant heartache
Love's always just within reach
Return to me one day, I beseech
Fate has more for me in store
Waiting patiently, like driftwood on the shore...

Was lured in the moment I started reading. Letting go of someone that you love is very difficult. Great poem. aa
