Lie Poem by Kitty Marie Lucas

Lie

how dare you come back
rising from
the grave
in injust fashion
only waiting to die
again

now i know you not
fading slowly
our love you forgot
will never be
realize
they were lies
thin under lights pale
real lies
left my mind
and my faith did fail

i loath my closure
where i thought
you'd gone
i will convert my
words into
this song

make them take your blood
eat your heart
i'd long
to see you complete
with all pieces
you wronged

now i know you not
fading slowly
our love you forgot
will never be
realize
they were lies
thin under lights pale
real lies
left my mind
and my faith did fail

yet i'm the criminal
stealing feelings
memories
from a forgotten life
what a mistake
to believe
what a lie
what a lie

...

who am i to ask
all this of
small you
i forgave you and
owe nothing
but truth

the scales are even
yet now you
return
just with such wanting
such a pity
i burn

now i know you not
fading slowly
our love you forgot
will never be
realize
they were lies
thin under lights pale
real lies
left my mind
and my faith did fail

shallow grave buried
you to no
avail
you unearthed yourself
in moonlight
so pale

i take you caring
not how i
am frail
