Lies Poem by alex haywood

Lies

Like a solitary raindrop
on a cloudy day
the lie fell
and sat there between us
Your eyes pleaded with me
to pick it up
but you forgot
the strength of my blood
or maybe you never knew
(what a sad thought)
Finally you lifted it reluctantly
placed it in a breast pocket
close to your heart
Now if you said hello
I wouldn't believe you
