Life As A Poet Poem by Marilyn Lott

Life As A Poet

When one is a poet, everything is a poem
It does not matter the subject
An object, a human or perhaps an animal
We find the perfect words that will fit.

A beautiful flower such as a tulip or rose
You see a small cricket you write very quick
Sweet birds at the bird bath
Or a brilliant lizard on a long crooked stick.

A tot in the park with his father or his mother
A plate full of food, perhaps breakfast or lunch
But then you look at the clock and you see
It is ten forty-five so you decide to call it brunch.

A parade with lovely horses prancing about
The sky full of wonder, the clouds a mixed match
But one thing about writing, if you don't like it
Now with computers, you easily start from scratch.

So many new friends from Poem Hunter and Facebook
Writing poems I will do the rest of my life - I know it
You have all changed my life forever it is true
I definitely love the experience of life as a poet!
