Life Goes On Poem by Arun Maji

Life Goes On

Rating: 5.0

I don't know
How long I am walking along eternity.

On my journey to unseen and unknown-
I see smile of flowers
That is soon shadowed by shadow of death.
I hear melody of flutes
That is soon covered by cry of starved children.
I hear laughter of beautiful young women
That is soon crushed by roar of hungry wolves.

Smell of death disorients me,
Agony of lives agonises me,
Tears of dream terrifies me.
An engulfing emptiness fills my heart
And ache tears my soul apart.

But then I see
A small plant rises from cruel soil of grave
And set its journey toward sky.
And it won't stop…

I see smile in its lips,
Hear song in its soul,
Feel dream in its eyes.

My mind jumps in joy.
I wonder
How come few daring hearts
Tease all-consuming death?
How come few invincible minds
See light amongst all darkness?
How come few beautiful souls
Sing songs amongst all tears?

May be, smile wound always be there
As long as there is sorrow.
Hope would always be there
As long as there is despair.

How long would I walk along eternity?
I don't know.
May be, as long as eternity would walk.

And who am I?
I am life.

I go on.

A small plant rises from cruel soil of grave And set its journey toward sky. And it won't stop… //.... Fantastic poem. There is hope if there is positivity in our outlook. Things can be changed when we have the moral strength and courage to execute our ideas into action. Thanks a lot.
