Life Is Like A Loaf Of Bread Poem by Samantha Wallace

Life Is Like A Loaf Of Bread

Our life is like a loaf of bread,
Soft, yet hard and crusty,
Bread is best baked to be shared,
We're born to feed the hungry.

We can choose to live out plainly,
Airy, light and tasteless,
Or we can choose one quite grainy,
More wholesome and nutritious.

Our lives are very different,
It's what makes us so unique.
God knows the kind of bread we need,
and uses His perfect technique.

He adds His fine ingredients,
Measuring them just right.
He sifts us to perfection,
To make our burden's light.

He kneads us all to stretch our faith,
with adversity as His yeast.
Then places us aside to rise,
Our maturity to increase.

So when life turns up the heat,
In situations, hard and tough,
When we want to cry out in defeat,
Or shout ‘We've had enough'.

But remember that's the best part
Of a loaf baked in the oven,
Our crusty hearts are just the start,
That makes the bakers dozen.

So beware, if you don't take care,
Your life turns dry and stale.
Leaving you with nothing to share,
Life's purpose ready to fail.

But don't throw out your crumbs,
For God can restore your life,
He can heat you with His love,
To a useful toasted slice.

Don't ever think your life is over,
Or feel your freshness is all gone,
Choose God as the Master Baker,
Restoring you to a delicious crouton!
