Why is loving a person so challenging?
How can we begin to care?
Why is letting go so trying?
How can we proceed to dare?
Why is taking a risk so daunting?
How can we take a chance?
Why is it so demanding?
How can we make advance?


Why when we finally make the leap,
Can it make us feel so raw?
Why when we set out to trust again,
Can it make us feel like before?
Why when we begin to learn to love,
Can it end up being so tough?
Why when we finally start to forgive,
Can it never be enough?


Why are there so many barriers?
Why can’t I pray they go?
Why does it have to be so hard?
Why do I want you so?
Why are there always unanswered questions?
Why can’t you be honest with me?
Why does it all seem impossible?
Why can’t you set me free?
