Life Of A Broken Woman Poem by J.J B. Torment

Life Of A Broken Woman

Lost and empty, these are the words from which she is reeling.
So back to the bar, this lost little girl, and another guy with she goes leaving.
Her spirit screams “no”, the hurt yells “yes”, through the night they go on disagreeing.
Just for the night, another one night stand, enduring each thrust and his heavy breathing,
She hides her hurt, and hides her pain, and all the misery she is feeling.
For just a few moments in her crazy hellish life, she feels the pleasure that she is needing.
Vanished in this night, or really a few hours, her life in these moments she’s fleeing.
When this happens she escapes and becomes numb, and to her, it feels so damn freeing.
Then it’s over. She drives home alone in the dark on the road in front she is seeing,
She screams ‘this won’t happen again’, that, to herself, she is guaranteeing.
At least she hopes that this time it is true, for her sake and for her very own wellbeing.
Her family and friends feel so helpless, and with her they just keep on pleading
for her to stop this reckless, self destructive behavior and life choices that she is leading.
She wants to, but she knows she can’t, cuz her heart and soul still lies bleeding.
All the pain and the hurt that happened before, her life, those things keep on impeding.
So day after day, and night after night, a better life for her she’ll just keep on dreaming,
until the day she draws her last breath and dies…. Then her maker that day she’ll be meeting.
