Life Of My Own, When? Poem by Balogun Segun Gbenga

Life Of My Own, When?

As time passes, events unfold
The story unveil, the scene foretold
Sweet memories fades away
The bustle and hustle of life leaves me in disarray
Man continue to dominate man to his injury
Struggle to take breath is battle luxury
No calls of my own like under remote control
So much uncertainty about this present system
Who can tell me about this delightful tommorrow?
'Cause the life I lived now they conceived I borrow
This is not life of my own,
Thoughts of peace Jehovah has towards the meek
This is not what I wish,
A life letting tears down the cheek..
Even though I hide under my own smile
And I masked my face with good ointment
The disquiet thoughts inside me is of no measure
Though my situation severe it may seem
And everything disillusion it may beam
An answer my Bible provides satisfactorily
Life of my own, in paradise earth fully
