Life’s Journey

My destination’s now not far
Along life’s winding road
Perhaps somewhere near that star
Bearing no heavy load

Salvation, removed it from me
It’s easier on life’s path
Since love’s precious blood set me free
From hell and endless wrath

My Saviour, has broken hell’s chains now
Devils have given up hope
Satan saw me to Jesus bow
How wonderful I cope

For decades now my journey’s been
Not all was sweet or grand
So many ups and downs I’ve seen
Yet Jesus held my hand

Whispering here singing there
No need had we to shout
Great fellowship I had to share
With my Father’s Son about

So many family and friends though
From time to time have gone
Sorry am I where some will go
But glad who loved God’s Son

Oh if only all together
Had Heaven’s King adored
No one, nothing, could us sever
From rising with The Lord

How often though, we saved one’s tried
Praying they would repent
But somehow devils, held them tied
Until to hell, they went.....
