Life's Lessons Poem by bryan wallace

Life's Lessons

We should not keep looking back -
At the past - not an inquest on our life.
If we do, we risk condemning ourselves -
Being judge, jury and executioner,
Weighing up each shred of evidence
To find fault where none exists.

Yes we made mistakes.
But that is human nature - we did
Our best with good intentions
With the knowledge that we had
At that point in time in our lives.

Further evidence may have come to light
With the passing time that shows -
That we were wrong. To err is human -
To make mistakes is the method,
By which we learn the lessons
That life had to teach us day by day.
